Stereoscopic Imaging
The ability to view objects 3-dimensionally has been long served by
stereo
imaging. The concept involves simultaneously viewing two superimposed
images captured at slightly varying
perspectives. When combined, the two perspectives emulate two images
that a viewer
would see from each of his/her own eyes. These image pairs, when
superimposed, provide the user with a unique sense of depth, similar to
a 3-D image.
Qioptiq Imaging Solutions has a rich history in developing and manufacturing
stereoscopic imaging solutions. Until recently, Qioptiq Imaging Solutions acquired
more than a decade's worth of stereoscopic engineering and
manufacturing of
advanced satellite and aerial imagery analysis workstations for the
defense and intelligence communities, as well as a mid altitude hybrid
Digital Transfer Scope utilized to analyze and compare hardcopy aerial
photography against digital base maps for environmental science, land
planning and resource managment applications.
Contact Qioptiq Imaging Solutions for more information, or to discuss applying our
stereoscopic innovations and technology to your 3D imaging challange.
